Criteria

The maximum amount of funding you can apply for is £1,000.

Projects must be created by and driven by young people, creating meaningful volunteering opportunities which will impact their communities.

Projects must take place within the GAVO footprint of Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire or Newport.

This year’s Cash 4 U Youth Led Grant will require applicants to describe how their project aligns with one or more of Wales’ 7 Well-being Goals, working towards:

A prosperous Wales

  • A resilient Wales

  • A more equal Wales

  • A Healthier Wales

  • A Wales of cohesive communities

  • A globally responsible Wales

  • A Wales of vibrant culture and thriving Welsh language

We can fund direct project costs; equipment; specific Volunteer expenses (such as travel) if this helps to remove barriers into volunteering; costs of a Sessional Worker / Trainer to do a specific piece of work with / for the project’s young people. Where items are requested, try to avoid any one-use or short-term items; sustainability and value for money are important.

We cannot fund staff salaries, annual fees or management fees.

Evidence

Successful projects will be subject to a monitoring visit and are required to submit a ‘case study’ in a format to be agreed but could include a film, blog, video diary, written account or ideas board for example.

We may ask for supporting evidence with your application (such as photos, videos etc.) You can send this alongside your application or if not we will ask for it when reviewing your application.

Please return completed applications to volunteering@gavo.org.uk - include 'Cash4u' and the title of your project in the subject heading

The closing date for applications is midnight on Monday 5th December 2022.

For further advice on all of the above and to upload supporting evidence - email the team at: volunteering@gavo.org.uk
