Caerphilly Volunteer Achievement Awards

The Caerphilly Volunteer Achievement Awards were held at Blackwood Miners Institute on Tuesday 18th October 2016. This year saw an unprecedented amount of nominations, ninety eight (98) in all, demonstrating how the communities across the Caerphilly Borough are engaging in and recognising the commitment of the volunteers.

The event was attended by HM Lord-Lieutenant for Gwent, Mayor of Caerphilly, members of Caerphilly Council and sponsors who presented awards across ten categories to the winners and runners up for this year.

Congratulations goes out to all of those who received an award, with a special mention for the Life Time Achievement Award that was presented to Mr Bob COOKE, who at the age of eighty three is finally retiring from all of his voluntary posts, after dedicating well over thirty years of service to the communities of the Caerphilly Borough.

Thanks also go to the sponsors for the evening, whose support for the evening is thoroughly appreciated, namely:

British Airway, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Go Compare, Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner and Gwent Police, Campaign Newspapers, Groundwork, Parent Network and Caerphilly County Borough Council.
