Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014

What is it?

The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 became law on 1 May 2014 and was implemented from April 2016.

It provides the legal framework for improving the wellbeing of people who need care and support, and carers who need support, and for transforming social services in Wales.

Whilst much of the work to date has focused on preparing the Statutory Sector for their duties, work to engage a wider range of people is ongoing.
