Newport Community Food Growers' Network. 25th October 2023. 2pm - 3.30pm
If you are interested in community growing, you may be interested in attending a meeting of like-minded growers across Newport. We're looking to set up a Community Food Growers' Network to provide peer support, exchange of knowledge and best practice, encourage collaboration and cooperation and to consider running joint growing events across the city to encourage more people to take up growing food themselves. If there are training needs or aspects of food growing that you might like some training in, let us know.
The network will run alongside the already established Community Food Network which has been running for the last 18 months or so and both networks will have representation on the Newport Food Partnership Steering Group which will be working towards creating a better, healthier food system for the city in the coming years. GAVO are working on creating this Food Partnership in collaboration with Newport City Council who are keen to be instrumental in creating an improved and more efficient food system for the city.
The first meeting will be online but we'll be looking to hold face to face meetings too.
