The Monmouthshire Volunteers Awards held on 15th October at the Gateway Church in Abergavenny proved to be yet another resounding success.

This high profile and much anticipated event was attended by over one hundred people who came together to celebrate the outstanding contribution of volunteers in Monmouthshire. These volunteers go above and beyond in making such a positive contribution to the lives of so many people across the county.

This was the third year that the event was jointly organised by GAVO and Monmouthshire Housing Association. Both organisations continue to join forces to collaborate on what was an uplifting celebration of volunteering activity in Monmouthshire. Working together in partnership contributes to making this an even more special occasion.

It was a fantastic evening and it's a real privilege to see so many volunteers being recognised for their truly inspirational work.

Special thanks to our wonderful hosts at Gateway and to Sugar Loaf catering

We were delighted to be joined by the Lord Lieutenant, High Sheriff and our guest award presenters.

The event was opened by the wonderful Rock Choir and featured a surprise performance by our wonderful singing waiters who made a dramatic entrance before entertaining us.

We were delighted to host so many amazing volunteers who were supported by friends and family in what was such a memorable evening. A big thank you to everyone involved in putting this event together.
