Join WCVA and the Fundraising Regulator for a Key Information Session

Charities and voluntary organisations across Wales are invited to a vital online session hosted by WCVA and the Fundraising Regulator, providing an essential overview of the newly updated Code of Fundraising Practice.

After more than two years of consultation, collaboration, and refinement, the Fundraising Regulator has published a new version of the code, which will officially come into effect on 1 November 2025. This refreshed code reflects a modern, more flexible approach to regulation—designed to help organisations uphold the highest standards of fundraising that is open, honest, and respectful.

Why Attend?

This event offers an important opportunity for anyone involved in charitable fundraising in Wales to get up to speed with the key changes in the code. Whether you're a fundraising professional, volunteer, or part of a small community organisation, this session will help you:

  • Learn how the new principles-based approach supports different types of fundraising

  • Find out what your organisation needs to do to prepare for the November implementation

  • Get early insights into additional guidance planned by the regulator later this year

  • Ask your questions directly to the team who led the code review

What’s Changed in the New Code?

Here are some of the key improvements you’ll learn more about during the session:

  • A principles-based approach: The new code focuses on overarching principles, allowing organisations to apply high standards consistently across all types of fundraising activities.

  • Simpler and clearer: The updated code is shorter, easier to understand, and better signposted—making it more accessible, especially for smaller charities or those new to fundraising.

  • Better protection for fundraisers: New requirements mean organisations must take reasonable steps to protect fundraisers from harm or harassment, and ensure they feel supported and able to report concerns.
