Community groups, charities and residents across Cymru are being encouraged to share their views on how National Lottery funding should be distributed in the future.

The UK Government has launched a national call for evidence to gather opinions on how money raised by National Lottery players for good causes should be spent. The consultation aims to better understand the priorities and needs of people and communities across the UK.

The survey is open to both individuals and organisations, providing an opportunity to share experiences of how National Lottery funding has made a difference locally and to influence future funding priorities. Responses can be submitted until 23 September 2026.

The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes funding to communities across the UK, awarded £939.7 million to good causes last year and supported more than 13,000 projects between 2024 and 2025. The majority of awards were small grants that helped grassroots organisations make a positive impact in their communities.

GAVO encourages voluntary organisations, community groups and local residents to take part and ensure that the voices of Newport communities are heard.
