To celebrate the installation of a brand-new cinema screen, Newport Live is inviting community groups to host their very own free film screening at The Riverfront!
Whether your chosen film reflects your group’s work, cultural heritage, or simply brings people together for a shared experience, this is your chance to enjoy the magic of the movies — “Because, after all, tomorrow is another day.” (Gone with the Wind)
🧡 Why Get Involved?
As The Fellowship of the Ring reminds us: “Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.” This initiative is all about bringing communities together through the power of storytelling.
You can choose:
A film that connects with your group’s mission or identity
A culturally significant or heritage-based film
Or just a beloved classic or recent release to enjoy with your community
🎟️ How to Submit Your Film
“You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” (Jaws) — or at least a bigger screen, and we’ve got that covered!
To take part:
Decide as a group which film you'd love to see on the big screen.
Complete the submission form (linked below), including:
The title of your chosen film
Three potential dates/times for your screening
The Riverfront team will contact you to confirm arrangements and share details on how attendees can reserve their seats.
Important Info
There are up to 50 screenings available, and all sessions must take place before the end of this year — so don’t wait! As Doc Brown said in Back to the Future:“If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.”
Final Word
“To infinity… and beyond!” (Toy Story) — Let’s make this a celebration of film, community, and connection.
