Zoë Paterson has recently joined the Newport team at GAVO as the Health, Social Care and Wellbeing Partnership Officer and supporting Susanne within the role here in Newport.
Zoë is a community-focused environmental advocate with a deep passion for sustainability, creativity, and place-based action. Zoë volunteers locally with Greening Maindee as a gardener and co-runs Jean Genies, a textile group that promotes sustainable fashion, creative reuse, and wellbeing. She also supports ReMake Newport, helping to champion circular economy values and community resilience.
Zoë is proud to be an attendee of the Future Generations Wales Leadership Academy, where she has been exploring how creative, nature-connected approaches can inspire confidence, healing, and sustainable living. She believes that sustainable practices can heal both people and the planet and is passionate about using creativity to help people reconnect with the natural world.
In her role at GAVO, Zoë works to strengthen partnerships across the health, social care, and wellbeing sectors in Newport by supporting organisations, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and helping groups access the resources and funding they need to grow and thrive.
Since joining, she has been connecting with local groups and services to better understand the amazing work already happening in communities, and to explore how GAVO can support and amplify these efforts.
Zoë is especially keen to connect with both established and emerging community groups to explore opportunities for collaboration, support wellbeing-focused projects, and help build meaningful partnerships that benefit the wider community.
