Warm Hubs are back this winter! Looking for a cosy, welcoming space to connect with others, stay warm, and access support? Warm Hubs are here to help.
These community-led spaces offer a friendly environment where you can drop in, enjoy a hot drink, take part in activities, and get advice or support—all free of charge. Whether you're popping in for a chat or joining a craft session, there's something for everyone.
What is a Warm Hub?
Warm Hubs (sometimes called Warm Banks, Cosy Corners, or Warm Spaces) are safe, heated venues in your local area where people can gather during colder months. With rising energy costs, these hubs provide a vital alternative for those who may struggle to heat their homes—especially older adults, vulnerable individuals, and those working from home.
But Warm Hubs are more than just warm rooms—they’re community spaces. Many offer:
Arts & crafts
Advice and support
Food and refreshments
Social activities
They’re designed to bring people together, reduce isolation, and offer practical help in a relaxed setting.
Who runs the hubs?
Warm Hubs are delivered by local community groups who’ve received funding for the scheme from the UK Government, Welsh Government, and Newport City Council. While GAVO helps promote and support the initiative, we don’t run the hubs directly.
