Caerleon In Bloom thanks to Caerleon Sunshine Community Scheme

Caerleon in Bloom have been successful in obtaining a £2750 grant from GAVO under the “Caerleon Sunshine Community Scheme”, to refurbish all 45 Floral Tubs around Carleon.

This entailed all the Tubs being emptied, replace the Capillary mats and refill with fresh compost, a job that was well overdue since they were received from the Ryder Cup event in 2010. The work was carried out by the team from The Willows Garden Centre in Usk who also plant and water the Tubs each year.

The project was supported by the children from Charles Williams Church in Wales School who helped by planting all 8 Floral Tubs on the big pavement on Lodge Road learning more about horticulture and the benefits plants have to our environment.

A big thank you must also go out to the committee members and sponsors who make it all possible for the project to benefit all of Caerleon's residents, there are several tubs available to sponsor, anyone interested in sponsoring a tub should contact Caerleon in Bloom
