We believe that community organisations are key to improving cancer outcomes. These groups understand the changing needs of their communities and bring skills, knowledge and creativity to help tackle the challenges that affect them. By strengthening their influence across the healthcare system, you can help build a future where cancer care is more inclusive and person-centred.
To support this, Macmillan are launching the Macmillan CARE (Culture • Agency • Respect • Equity) Grants Programme. This pilot programme will fund community-led projects that offer new insights and impact. Grants will focus on three key areas:
Cultural Responsiveness: Improving the sensitivity of cancer care to diverse cultural needs.
Shared Decision Making: Empowering people to understand and participate in their care choices.
Dementia-Friendly Cancer Care: Enhancing support for individuals living with both cancer and dementia.
The programme is open to voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations across the UK. We’re looking for groups with an interest in addressing health inequities and delivering co-designed, community-led solutions.
In this first round, up to £1.5 million is available, with grants ranging from £50,000 to £150,000. The fund is open now and closes on 23 January 2026.
