New Funding Available to Boost Digital Inclusion Across Wales

The Welsh Government has launched the Digital Inclusion Wales Grant, a transformative funding opportunity aimed at breaking down barriers and ensuring everyone across Wales has access to digital skills and devices. The scheme comprises two distinct strands, designed to support both long-term, community-based projects and innovative, short-term pilots.
Key Funding Streams
Core Grant (up to 3 years)
Total pot available: £360,000 revenue and £30,000 capital per year
Typical award size: up to £40,000 revenue and £3,500 capital annually
Maximum funding over three years: £120,000 revenue and £10,500 capital
Innovation Grant (up to 12 months)
Total pot available: £40,000 revenue and £20,000 capital per year
Typical award size: up to £10,000 revenue and £5,000 capital
This investment supports projects that:
Distribute devices and connectivity
Provide essential digital skills training
Focus on those most affected by digital exclusion such as people on low incomes, older adults, those in remote areas, or individuals lacking confidence with technology
Local authorities, community groups, social enterprises, faith bodies, and other public or private sector organisations are all eligible to apply either independently or via partnerships.
Applications opened on 17 November 2025, with a deadline of 4 pm on 9 February 2026. Funding decisions are expected in March 2026, with project start dates set for 1 April 2026 onward (Core projects to run until March 2029; Innovation until March 2027).
