For the first time in history, the Tour de France is coming to Wales, and you could be part of this once-in-a-generation sporting event
The men's peloton will arrive in Wales on Sunday, July 4, 2027, as the grand finale of the UK Grand Départ. Stage 3 will be a gruelling 223 km route beginning at Powis Castle in Welshpool and finishing in Cardiff, bringing thousands of spectators to communities across Wales.
Become a Tour de France Joy Maker
To help deliver this world-class event, organisers are recruiting hundreds of Joy Makers – the volunteers who will help create a safe, welcoming and unforgettable experience for riders, spectators and visitors.

Volunteer Roles Available
Race delivery - These roles are critical to race delivery and those who want to be close to the action!
Whether you’re a flag waver guiding the world’s best cyclists or helping spectators at crossing points, you’ll help the Tour pass through safely.
Spectator Support - If you can provide local knowledge, a friendly face and a warm welcome, these roles are for you.
Spectator support roles include wayfinding and welcoming, and will help ensure everyone has a great day!
Who Can Volunteer?
To be involved you need to:
Be available for at least one day of the event
Be aged 16+ by 1 April 2027
Be willing to learn and be happy to complete all training required before volunteering
Have a real enthusiasm for welcoming and talking to visitors
Have the right to work in the UK
Understand they may need to conduct a security risk assessment check, depending on role
You do not need any previous experience and full training will be provided.
