Llangybi Village Hall was the first venue for GAVO's 'Winter Warmer' event, on 9th December 2024. Having been postponed thanks to Storm Bert - almost once cancelled again thanks to Storm Darragh, the hall played host to a small group of local residents eager to share their energy saving tips and cooking skills! Kate Lewis, from the charity 'Severn Wye Energy Agency' provided advice and practical examples to keep those energy bills down, and Angharad Underwood from 'The Cookalong Clwb' explained how a slow cooker can be a big money-saver in the kitchen, as well as providing convenient and nutritious meals. A really enjoyable morning was finished off with all of us enjoying the delicious sausage cassoulet that Angharad had - in true Blue Peter style - prepared earlier. Everyone enjoyed the session and one lucky local resident went home with their very own slow cooker after winning the golden ticket! If your village hall would like to host a similar event please get in touch with Jo Webb at jo.webb@gavo.org.uk
