Caerleon Sunshine Community Grant Scheme - * Currently being updated for 2026 applications

The Caerleon Sunshine Community Grant Scheme is now open and inviting applications from groups within Caerleon and those delivering services and projects to its residents. Eligible applicants can receive up to £4000 to fund projects that benefit the local community.


About the Grant

Funded by profits from the local solar farm, this grant is available to community groups, registered charities, CiCs, CIOs (Not for profit groups), schools and social enterprises that can provide a direct benefit to the Caerleon community.


Eligible Projects

The grant supports a wide range of community activities within the general charitable/third sector areas of well-being, eco/green sustainability, or addressing poverty and hardship. Projects must be delivered between November 30th, 2026, and October 31st, 2027. Creativity and innovation are encouraged, with smaller applications below the £4000 maximum looked upon more favourably.

Application Support

If you have an idea and need advice, our Community Development Officer is available to assist you in developing your project and submission.


Application Requirements

To apply, your organisation must:

  • Be a third sector organisation or group

  • Have a constitution in place

  • Have a community bank account (or be in the process of setting one up)

  • Either be a Caerleon based group or deliver projects within Caerleon and for the benefit of its residents.


    Consider contacting the GAVO Community Development Officer to discuss your project ahead of making an application.


Application Process and Timeline

  • Application Period: April 1st, 2026 - October 1st, 2026

  • Decision Notification: October 31st, 2026

  • Contract and Invoice Submission: November 9th, 2026

  • Funding Release: November 25th, 2026
