Newport Better Connected Community Activity Development Project - Small Grants is for groups who can support with Health, Social Care and Wellbeing at a very local level in Newport.
The grant is provided by ABUHB to be distributed in partnership by GAVO in the Newport Area.
The purpose of this small grant scheme is to support local community groups to provide social or wellbeing activities, advice and support. Community groups will be given the opportunity to apply for local funding to establish, continue or develop their activity that positively benefits the well-being of the community and supports a range of agreed local priorities, this could include; dementia, women’s health, support for vulnerable groups and long terms conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, mental health, support and peer support groups and activities and similar.
Successful applicants will be expected to work together to support local capacity building activity, community engagement and to link and co-ordinate well-being assets.
Up to £1000 can be awarded per application.
Who is it for?
Local community groups will be given the opportunity to apply for the Newport grant fund to start up, to continue or develop activity and support that positively benefits the wellbeing of the community and supports a range of health and wellbeing priorities.
What is it for?
The funding can be used for example; room hire, resources, refreshments to support groups of people coming together for activities, peer support, wellbeing sessions or information as examples.
The goal is making support more connected in and around the community to boost resilience and wellbeing in Newport.
